Christmas fun at work

Some people don't like that we have to wear a uniform to work everyday. I myself do like the fact that I have to wear a uniform,as getting ready for work goes a lot smoother when your in a hurry.... but a break once in awhile sure feels good.

It's been a fun month for most of us. There are a few "grinch's" & "Bah Humbugs" in the mix.(not really) But for example, someone came to work dressed all in black & thought he was a lump of "coal".(he sure looks upset doesn't he?)
Another one just thought he would crawl out of bed & come straight to work....(those jammie's must be comfy as he hasn't been to work since) Grrrrrr!

Then there's the "grinch" who will not participate with having her picture taken. It's like she's camera shy or doesn't want someone to notice that she's on the FBI's Top 100 most wanted list!!
Notice even when we go for the "group" picture at our Christmas Office Party, she yet AGAIN, hides behind everyone, so your not sure who she really is!!

She replies with "See, you can see me in the picture"!! Really Tryn? Is that really you back there??
And then you go for the cute picture infront of the Dispatch Christmas Tree & a little "elf" pops up in the bottom corner of your picture. He better have gifts!!

What can I say. We have been having a blast with our "Wear your ugly Christmas sweater to work, and our "casual dress" for our Office Party. It's still not over with. We get to wear our "civie's" (aka:business attire) during the Holidays. I'm excited, but most of those days I'm not working :(

Hope everyone enjoys their holiday.

P.S. If I can figure out how to post that "wonderful" picture of Colleen in her Christmas outfit....I would LOVE to post it here as well!!

Kids PD Christmas Party

So the Police Kids Christmas Party was held Saturday afternoon & my grandkids, daughter in law & Hubby decided to check it out. We loaded up & headed for the city.
There was several things for them to do.....
Decorate some Christmas cookies. Amazing how much frosting one can put on a cookie.

And amazing how much of that frosting ends up on that cute little face!!!

What is a Christmas Party without gifts? Someone LOVES what he got!!

Here's Brandon waving at everyone trying to tell them..."Hey, it's my birthday"!!
Everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. He loved it!!!

Jaron handed out prizes. He would not let me take his picture, so I snuck up on him.

Pam with her cute little granddaughter, Wayne & his girlfriend.

Tammy Rammy & her son. Tammy, I really think he can tie his own shoes. LOL.
Fun Times!!!

Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for a husband who is good to me and who takes time for the little stuff...like teaching our grandson how to get the big end of the "wishbone".

Thankful for my parents & all they do for ALL of us.
Even when it's to cold to come out, they still do. (real reason: to see the great-grandkids)

I'm thankful for my sons & my daughter in laws. How we love them all & just wish we had more time with them.

**notice my grandkids are not wearing shoes or socks! Grandma had on socks & nice warm slippers!! It was snowing outside!!**

I am SOOOO thankful for my GRANDKIDS! They fill my heart with happiness & joy. And most of all LOVE.

I am truly thankful for such a great family that God has blessed me with.

Happy Birthday to my Sister in law

Someone is celebrating a birthday this weekend in Vegas baby!! I sure hope after your past busy months, that you got to finally put your feet up & relax.

When I say busy, I mean busy. She couldn't even take a picture with her brother without being on the phone. I think she was ordering feed or belt buckles or crowns....who knows. LOL

Hope you won big!! And if you did, don't forget who loves you the most!!!

Cattle Call

What a weekend. It was none stop. We got to California around noon on thursday & we never stopped to rest. Got into town & dropped off suitcases & picked up our young niece & headed out to the Tri Tip BBQ they hold every thursday before Cattle Call & "The Bell Game".
As soon as I walked in the door I saw friends and old co-workers.It was hugs & catching up from the time I walked in the door until we left. The hubby gave up & went & sat at the table with the Cattle Call Queen & his sister. He knows how I get when I go back to Cali to visit.

The next day the Queen & her court had to go & talk at 2 different schools. So I decided to go & watch the girls talk to the little kids. Should be interesting. I walk onto the school grounds that were packed with kids & parents & I run into 2 teachers who asked what am I doing in town & what am I doing at this school. LOL.

Next was lunch with the girls & an officer I use to work with. We would always do lunch on Mondays years ago. It was a given & who ever showed up, showed up. We always had a blast. And of course we were missing a few regulars.

After lunch I did some running around & then went & grabbed my niece's & we went down to the arena to watch the Queen & her court practice. By the time I got them all gathered up, practice was over. We got there mid afternoon & left after dark. The girls were excited that they got to take pictures & get autographs from the Queen & her court. Oh, and they got to pet horses, which made the event that much better.

Saturday morning came VERY early. Trying to get from point A to point B is really hard on parade day. We made it to horse drop off point & waited for
the parade to start.
The Queen & her court were entry #6, so as soon as she took off, so did we. Down alley's & back streets I made it to middle of town where I knew my brother & his family were. He had bleacher seats, we just stood in the back causing trouble.

After the exciting parade, we rushed out for a bite to eat & then headed to the arena for the rodeo. We had such a good time with my brother & his family.

And then towards the end, look who found us. The three of us have known each other since grade school. We just were missing the other 4th musketeer. (she's the one that's in the blog dated Nov. 7th)

(Look at my little niece in the background trying to look sly. She's funny!!)

My husband & I had a great time! Like always, it goes by to fast. Now I can't wait for our "girls weekend trip" in _________.

Growing up neighbors & friends

Growing up we had a neighbor across the alley that I spent alot of time with.
We went to school together & we use to walk down to the liquor store to buy candy & ice cream. We use to beg her oldest brother Bo to take us "cruising". After all, what "cool guy" wants to cruise up & down Main St with his little sister & her girlfriend? Or remember we would also ask if we could sit in his truck & talk on the "CB Radio". LOL, his reply was usually 'NO" to both request.

Now her oldest sister would beg us to go stalking...I mean cruising with her by the local fire department to look at "hot guys"...I mean just one guy. It didn't matter how late at night it was, PJ's and all, off we would go.

Also our mom's worked at the elementary schools together. After they both retired they still would talk on the phone, or talk out in the alley. They did this until her mom finally moved back east to be with her daughter. So last month they decided to fly out to San Diego & back home for a quick visit & then up to Utah to visit their grandson/nephew who is stationed at HAFB. I was so excited when she said she was coming to town, I was marking the days on the calendar till they arrived.

We had a blast.
I already miss you, but not real happy u talked me into FB. Look, already I have ignored my blog for a whole week. But I love my blog. It is so much easier than FB. LOL.

Oh, and look what I found....I am going on a hunting spree for old pictures. I found a bunch. It's not a very good copy, but it will do for now. :)

I so miss the four of us hanging out together. Love ya!!

Cute little goblins

A cute little ladybug & a big strong Spiderman stopped by to collect some goodies.

Then we heard a little cute bumble bee was flying around & we just had to go and check her out.
She wasn't to sure what it's all about, but she did enjoy herself & the candy.

Looks like her daddy dressed up in her grandpa's old race jersy from the 80's.

Mother Nature not playing well

I'm pretty sure it's still Fall and the leaves should have turned a beautiful yellow, orange and red. Kind of like this....

BUT.....
This morning is what we found in our yards....

Is Mother Nature trying to play a "trick"? Cause it's really not a treat!!!

At least the sun came out & melted it all away this afternoon.

Buon Compleanno to my cousin.

Someone is having a birthday & I so wish I could be there to spend it with you.
I really should spend it with you here in the States before you move halfway across the world to Italy.

We grew up together & went everywhere together. We could of been sisters. Heck, I feel like you are my sister at times. I even tried to find some pictures of us growing up, wearing our matching little Easter dresses or other outfits Grandma would make for us. Your lucky I didn't find any. I'm sure my mom has a lot I can post later.

I know it's been years, but there are things I still remember when we were really young. I can remember getting in trouble for talking after we would go to bed. (we so thought we were just whispering & your mom would never hear us) lol.
I remember us walking to your house for lunch during school & you would take your Doritos & put them inside your tuna sandwich. (and why did I have to eat my crust, but you never had to?)
I remember driving your mom's big old Pontiac & you ducking down in the front seat because you were so embarrassed.
Christmas we would open our presents at the exact same time, because we knew we would be getting the exact same thing.
Going to the desert & riding in the back seat of your dad's dune buggie. We would snuggle up in a blanket & go for night rides.
Going to a Charger game once in awhile (when I liked the other team)
Going to the Holiday Bowl between BYU & Ohio State. You didn't like either team, but you went with me anyways. (thanks to your dad & his season Chargers tickets)
Great times & memories growing up. Where did the time go?

Even after I moved 800 miles away, we seem to get together when we could.
Either playing in the sun in sunny California. On the beaches of San Diego (or in your pool)

Hanging out in Park City, freezing our butts off!!!

No matter where we were, we always had a good time.

Ti amo & miss you. I hope you have a great day with your family.

Buon divertimento. Ciao.
