Laughlin, NV race March 3, 2007

We left snowy Utah for sunny, windy Laughlin, NV for a fun weekend of racing. Preston and Dustin teamed up again for the "Best in the Desert" race. Preston is on the bike waiting in line to start the race. Dustin is in the blue jacket. And of course Samantha wishing Preston luck at the start line. After that it's off to "stage".
Then to the "start line" and the green light. He was the 14th "PRO" bike off the line. Preston did the first 20 miles, but couldn't get a good feel of the bike. Came into the pits in 19th & handed the bike off to Dustin.
Dustin was off & then it became a game of "catch up". Dustin did his loop of just over 20 miles, and turned the bike over to Preston in 18th place. While in the pits, the crew of Coy & Warren did a few adjustments to the suspention. After that, the bike ran great in the "woops".
Preston got on the bike & made up 2 spots to 16th & turned it back over to Dustin. At the finish line it was 14th over-all and an unofficial 6th Pro 4 stroke finish for the team.
Here they are at the finish line where they put a microphone in your face & ask you questions about your race. The rider on the bike is worn out, that they don't say to much. Here Preston thanks his suppose team of Mom, Dad & Samantha. Also a big thanks to Dustin & his family and to their sponsor Cody from "Unlimited Glass".
And for the "cutest" back up rider Cory...who just eats up this racing and was so excited that he too got a "racing arm band" and if Preston or Dustin got hurt, it was up to him to finish out the race. We all had a blast. Next race is Knolls, Utah near the Utah/Nevada border. Preston & Chris will both race. As well as Dustin. Then in 3 weeks it's back home to California for a National Race where we hope to see everyone. Race Day is Sunday the 25th. See u there.

National Race, Lucerne, CA 2007

I'm only a month behind, but here are some pic's that Tressa took at Chris's 1st National Race of 2007. This 1st pic is Chris waiting at the starting line.
Here he is taking off at the starting line. He said he got a good start. It was a 42 mile race which took him just over an hour to finish. He only had one roll over accident, but said he jumped right up & got back on. We were so proud of him. He was about 8 minutes behind 1st place. Said there was alot of rocks to climb over. You can tell by these fews pictures at the finish line.

2nd Place Finish. January 27, 2007 Lucerne Valley, CA

Chris also finished 2nd at the 2nd National Hare & Hound Race held on Feb. 10, 2007 in Ridgecrest, CA. That same weekend he raced a WORCS race the day before in Altadona, CA (not sure on the name of the little town outside of Victorville, CA). I believe he finished 8th. The motocross track he did not enjoy, but his dad said he kicked butt out in the desert part, and then the moto track would beat him up. Oh well. I have no pictures to post from that race, as only Coy & Chris went, and Coy can not be bothered with a camera.

Next weekend Feb. 24th, Preston has a race down in St. George, UT. Forecast: RAIN

Then on March 2-4th, he has a Best in the Desert Race down in Laughlin, NV. Come and join us if you can. If not, see you at Superstition.

Happy New Year

Ok..it's been months, maybe years since I posted here. Not sure how I did this without Barbra's help, but I did. Of course this was our photo on our Christmas card, so it's old news. I said I was going to make this a racing blog, and I will. As soon as I get better at this baby. Hope all is well.
