Why oh why can't I post comments?? I have tried several times now on several blogs and I have been ......

This just sucks!!! So guess I will read but I won't comment unless one of you has a solution for my problem.

Riverdance

My mom made a comment one day while watching a TV commercial about "Riverdance". She said "oh, I saw that down in El Centro & it was really good". Ok, I'm sure it was ok, but I can't imagine it was "The Tour".
So I set my plan in motion. I got on-line to see if there were still tickets available with only 2 days till opening night. I had to see if Kingsbury Hall had stairs/steps and/or handicap seats. My mom can do stairs, but they can't be steep or a lot of them. She worries about steps & is afraid of falling.
When I finally decide to buy the tickets & take my chances, the ticket buying web site was down....ALL DAY.
I finally was able to purchase the tickets & drove over to the college when I got off work. I drove around to see if my mom would be able to walk from the parking lot. NOPE. Now what?? I then went inside to pick up my tickets & the girl at the window told me about how they block off parking in front for handicap parking. Thank goodness. One less thing to worry about.
I called my mom friday night & told her to be up & ready by noon. I was taking her on a surprise trip. She said ok. 30 mins later she calls & said I hope your not taking me somewhere with stairs. I told her I already thought of everything, just be ready.
I went to pick her up on Saturday. I drove down streets she has never been on in Lehi. She was so lost. She thought I was going to take her to Provo. Then she saw we were getting on the fwy to go north. She thought maybe Thanksgiving Point. Then I started towards Park City. She was worried that her coat wasn't heavy enough. LOL.
Then I exited onto Foothill & she was so lost. She said she knows we have to be going towards town as she could see the "big buildings". Then she saw the UofU stadium. I told her we were going to a football game & she had to climb to the top of the bleachers. We finally parked & walked up to the theater. She still had no clue. Finally walking into the theater, she saw the little poster on the door. She said, "oh, I would like to see that. Are we seeing this"? I said yes & she got so excited she gave me a hug.


My mom was so happy & surprised. Mission accomplished.

Primm Race

A couple of weeks ago, we headed down south to Primm, NV where we met up with my brother, sister in law, nephew & a few friends. We were there to support Antonio for his WORCS Race. We had a fun time together. It's was cold & the forcast said snow & rain, but we lucked out & only had a few sprinkles. It really wasn't to bad at all.
My brother hauled up his 5th wheel & we stayed at Whiskey Pete's. We BBQ'd Carne Asada friday night outside & it finally got to cold , so we decided to kick around in the trailer for awhile. Tonio went to bed early, but I think he was really just trying to get warm, so Coy & I headed off to our nice toasty room (which also included a nice HOT shower!)
Saturday morning started out cold, but no rain like Mr. Weatherman had reported on the 10PM news friday night.(Thank goodness.)
All prepped & ready to go, Tonio went down & got on the starting line.
He had some competition!!
He was off....5th and then 4th right at the turn to go out into the desert.
Go,go,go!
They raced for 50 mins. and when the checked flag fell, Antonio finished 3rd!! And what does that mean?? Podium baby!! They called his name & up on the box he went. Now be prepared winners, as top finishers, fans want to hear what you have to say about the race! Have your speech ready!!!
Unlike the winners at the Oscars who have to be forced off the stage, these kids mumble a word or two & then run!!! They are not afraid of speed, but they sure are afraid of microphones!!
Here's the proud racer who did thank his Tata & Nana on the podium, you just didn't hear him.
As we all said our good-bye's & parted ways...my brother & his family headed south back to sunny California & we headed north to....SNOW!!

This is the Gorge between Mesquite & St. George. I have never seen snow in the gorge!!
And here is what was waiting for us between St.Geo & Cedar City.
Just once when we go to a Primm Race, am I asking to much for some sunshine & 60 degree weather? Last year it poured rain on us the whole time!!!

Blog headache

I have a huge blog headache. I want to give my blog a face lift, but I have no idea how to change it. I have tried for the past hour & I'm not getting anywhere. I am tired of this look & would like to update the grandkids pictures. I'm just at a lost. If any of you have some hints for me....please share.

Feeling bad

Stuff is going around & it seams like the grandkids have been sick this past month. One night we babysat & someone wanted a little bed made on the couch so he could watch cartoons. Grandma was also sick, so she took the bigger couch. (no one made her a bed) :(

And now our granddaughter has been really sick & has been to the doctor's & out to the hospital for treatments. Now she has a little breathing machine to do breathing treatments on. It just breaks my heart to see them feeling so bad.

I would take all that pain for them any day of the week. Kids should be out running around & having fun, not sick in bed.

Addition to the family

Hee hee. Scared some of you didn't I?
Our granddaughter got a new little puppy. She loves her when she's not chasing after her & nipping at her heals. After all, they think she is half Border Collie, and that's what they do....chase & round things up.

She is the cutest little thing I have seen in awhile..(that doesn't come in the form of a grandchild.) The mama is a Corgi & like I said...guessing the daddy is border collie. She runs around the house & barks & likes to play with toys that are not hers. She is such the typical puppy!!!

Blog neglect.

Dear Blog,
I am so sorry that I have neglected you this past month. I will try and pay more attention to you.

On New Years Eve we spent it babysitting...... Reading, playing & just spending time together.....the BEST!!!

And then on New Years Day, we babysat some more.....
Now what better way to ring out the old year and then ring in the New Year?? Granddaughter are AWESOME!!!
