I hope you all have a great & safe weekend. Let's remember what this day is all about and honor those that gave their life so that we can enjoy our freedom and this great country that we live in.

Something to listen to.
I love this song & didn't think anyone else could sing it better than Jeff Buckley, but last week, I fell in love with another version of this song. Let me know what you think. **just click on the Hallelujah link**

Not sure what to make of it.
I read something somewhere, and I'm not sure what to make of it. But I have a feeling that in a non direct way, I play a part. I'm not positive, but in the back of my mine, it's what I think.

No computer & no cell phone.
Now I am becoming somewhat suspicious of the place I am taking my computer. Does this guy really know what he's doing, or is he just using me as his own personal ATM machine? This is the 3rd time I have taken it in within a months time. I told myself....3 strikes & he's out! I'm at my wit's end. What should I do?
Also, my cell phone broke wednesday, so I'm without a cell phone. I wanted to post a picture of what use to be one solid piece, but is now in two pieces. (kind of looks like this one).
I've lost everyone's cell numbers & I'm beating my head trying to remember who's numbers I need to replace. What a headache. What is even funnier, last night I went onto my cell phone carriers web site to price a new phone, and in order to get my information, they sent me a "text" with the code I need to enter into the computer. HELLO, I DON"T HAVE A WORKING CELL PHONE!!!! I just thought that was funny.
I'm just not meant to be a electronic geek. I'm not computer smart or a big fan of fancy cell phone stuff.
I don't play games or have internet connection on my phone to pull up my emails (althought it would come in handy right now). I'm lucky I figured out how to get & receive texts. LOL. Hopefully I will get a new cell phone this weekend, as I'm using my mom's cell phone right now for emergencies. Thank God I'm still "old school" and have a house phone!!

NBC - I'm not happy with you.
OK, I just heard a rumor yesterday that NBC might not continue with one of their long time running drama's, "Law & Order". I was so hoping that the rumor was just that, a rumor, and they would pick up the show for another year so it could tie the all time TV record. But looks like last night, the news broke & they are not renewing it. I am not happy with this decision.
Why does NBC (or really, any other network I guess) cancel these great shows? Is it so they can fill the time slot with some stupid reality show? I'm sure it's a money issue, but really NBC.... "Law & Order". It use to have it's regular showing on Wednesday nights, and then you start messing with it & moving it all over the place. From Wednesday to Tuesdays, then Fridays, now it's Mondays. I say you should of left it alone. Thank goodness "Law & Order SVU" will still be on, and now I hear there will be a new "Law & Order" show called "Law & Order Los Angeles"?
Well, I really don't watch NBC that much. I said I wasn't going to watch anymore when they canned my all time favorite show "Third Watch". Other shows I loved & they did away with..."Boom town", "South land", "Life". (yes I see a pattern here. All cop type drama's).
So, I will close with this. Good-bye Law & Order. It was a good 19 years & I will miss you. (insert that little "dum dum" music that they play at the end of every little clip)

Happy Mothers Day
What I figured would be probably just another normal day for me, turn out to be fantastic!!. (I wonder why? ).
My husband started calling my boys around wednesday to see what they wanted to do for mothers day. No call back that night or the next day. In fact, no mention of Mothers Day at all from them. As any mother of married boys knows, the wife's family comes first, and if there is any time left in the day, then maybe the husbands family will get a visit. I am coming to terms with this & understand. I would not trade my DIL's for anything, as they make my boys happy.(and they make the cutiest kids) What also makes me happy?? Any amount of time with my grandkids would make me smile from ear to ear, even if it's only a 15 minute stop to say "hi Grandma".
Also, my boys do work the weekends, so I understand they don't have much spare time. As I too use to have to work the weekends and didn't get off work till 4PM & then had to scramble from house to house to visit.
Long story short. We decided to take my mom to Olive Garden for an early dinner & invited the kids along. The declined, but said they would be over later. So what I thought was going to be a day with just me and my mom, turned out to be the Best Mothers Day I could ask for. Time with my parents & time with my boys, my daughter in laws and my grandkids. Could not be better than that!!!

Our Good, Bad & Ugly weekend.
Good: Last weekend my son had another race out near Wendover, Nevada. Both my boys were there, my hubby & my dad. We camped out together even thought it was for a very short time. As bedtime came early friday night as it was going to be a very early morning. Everyone got up around 4am.
One son was going to race and the other son was working at a spot out on the course to make sure everyone followed the rules! Racers had to be on the starting line at 5:45am. (some people didn't get the memo, heck, the sun didn't even want to come up that early!!
After 138 miles of racing, my son finished 1st and he was the 2nd over-all racer. He started 11th off the start line. (they start 1 at a time and leave every 30 seconds) He had a fantastic race!!!
The Bad: This guy was pitted next to us & was from Las Vegas. He was about 30 miles out & hit a ditch of some kind, breaking off his front wheel. Several guys had a bit of bad luck this day. Also, bad was the freezing weather friday night & saturday morning. Once in awhile my dad & I would head back to the trailer to warm up. Thank goodness the sun finally came out & started to warm things up. The wind was blowing, but it was finally dying down. After the race, we were able to settle down in lawn chairs & watch the buggies & trucks race. It was turning out to be a nice day (weather wise)
The ugly. As we all were seated outside waiting for more fun, my dad get's a phone call. My mom has taken a tumble out on the street & cracked her head. The ambulance arrived & gave her a ride to the hospital...( Ok mom, u out rode the guys as you got lights & sirens during your race). LOL. Thank goodness my daughter in law was home & she drove over to be with my mom at the emergency room. She has no idea how much I appreciate that or her. I was afraid my mom was going to be by herself & then never let us leave her alone again. My DIL is a blessing!!!For Mothers Day, my brother is sending her a motorcycle helmet and I may end up getting her some elbow & knee pads. Hopefully the doctor will release her today.
I'm on my way over there now to see how she's doing.
